It’s a strange system we have at West Seattle High School. Freshman honors world is basically the first half of the AP curriculum. This gives us the luxury of not having to run through all of non-US history in 8 months. This is particularly true since, unlike most of the rest of the country, we start school after labor day and thus would be a couple of week behind most other school districts. On the other hand, the freshman class is not really a full-on AP curriculum yet. If you need a fairly good overview of the difficulty of the test and its context, this article is reasonable.

Couture 2017 World AP Scores section breakdown (Couture teaching sophomore, Dahms teaching Honors World ninth) – Note, this one was odd. There were two different tests given this year. Half of my students took one and half took the other. One of those tests was clearly more aligned to what I taught and one wasn’t. This is one of the many reasons I find the AP World test to be of dubious ethical and intellectual quality.
